3D-Tin is a very cool program that helps students build 3-D models right in the web-browser. This is similar to Google Sketch-Up, but it doesn’t have to be installed locally, is cloud-based, and feels a little more intuitive. The site has an enormous amount of tutorials and lessons, starting very simply and working through the more difficult stuff later on.

Think of it like MineCraft, but actually related to a project!
